My son is 2 1/2 and loves p**p. If the dog poops outside he has to "watch" it. I go to get the shovel and he screams :I wanna watch" He now wants to watch his p**p after he goes in his diaper. When I change him he don't want me to throw away the diaper and sits and looks at it. When I go on the toilet he has to watch my p**p in the toilet.

I been trying to let him watch the p**p but, he still gets mad when i flush or throw the p**p away.

has anyone experienced this?

  1. My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and still loves poo.  Whenever she goes in the toilet (usually once a day) one of us has to come and see it and say "Wow!" or "Good job!" before she will flush it.  I'm guessing it's a phase and hope it will go away soon.

  2. Time to "redirect!"

Draw his attention to other things to "watch!" Find bugs on the side-walk or birds in the tree, whatever, the child needs another hobby.

  3. Hmm.. try getting his mind of p**p and find something else like a cartoon on tv.  i have a two nieces and one nephew and they never was into ( p**p ) but i guess every kid is differant

  4. LOL that's hilarious! My son did the exact same thing. It started with looking at the p**p in his diaper, to watching us go, and eventually he started using the potty to see it in there. So be happy, that is a really good sign that he is interested. One thing to watch out for; My son got in the habit of pooping right after I put him in his room for a nap and then taking off his diaper to inspect it alone. This was not fun to clean up! One more thing, depending on how far advanced he is, you may start trying him in some pull ups during the day and see how he does with potty training! Best of Luck!

  5. I had a nephew that was like this!  Haha!  He just turned 17, and I'd forgotten all about this.  Chalk it up to curiosity.  I promise they grow out of it! :)
