  1. stick with that routine until her appetite turns around. For the meanwhile give her pediasure or similar drink so that she will still get the nutrients that she needs. Plus they're YUMMY..LOL

    Good Luck

  2. She's in that picky stage. Try disguising foods as something fun. She'll appreciate it. If all she'll eat right now during this phase is Honey Nut Cheerios, let her eat them. Rather her eat just that than nothing at all, right? It will pass.

  3. she sounds like she is eating healthy enough for her to be okay. (Go mom!) my three year old is the same way. loves cereal, fruit, but wont touch anything else, really. the best thing to do is just let them be. like i said she seems to be eating fairly well, and the last thing you want to do is force a toddler to eat. they grow up later in life more picky and less likely to eat more. for now, she will eat when she's hungry. she is not doing it on purpose, they don't know how to (yet!) she seems to be just fine and kudos for you for having her eat healthy foods. i see/know alot of parents who will let their kids eat just about anything whether it be junk food, fast food, or something they shouldn't have till they're older! Good Luck and don't worry !!

  4. It's really not uncommon for a toddler to not want to eat or chose to eat only a few select foods. My friends son would only eat chicken nuggets and fruit&nut bars, so that's all he ate, so long as he was eating something no one seemed too worried. I had another child when I worked in childcare who ate nothing all day, only drank her milk and juice.

My best advice is to make sure you have a eating routine and that your child eats with you, without the distraction of tv, radio, etc. Make sure they see you enjoying a variety of foods and eating all of it.

I don't think honey nut cheerios is a bad idea for dinner, at least she's eating something right :-)

  5. wow my 2yr old eats too much and is over weight be thankful

    lol

  6. I have always heard that a child will eat when he/she is hungry. Don't force her. let her snack through out the day and she should be fine. She may actually be eating more than you realize. My 3 year old goes through stages like that. Just make sure her snacks are healthy. And yes as long as she eats them I think that honey nut cheerios are an ok dinner.

  7. Honey nut cheerios is quite healthy actually. Kids go through growth spurts and sometimes lose their appetite. If it continues for more than a week I would contact the doctor. Also ask her if her throat hurts. My daughter wouldnt eat and it turned out she had tonsilitis. Maybe it hurts to eat or drink.

  8. If she is eating honey nut cheerios for dinner so be it. Fruit for lunch? Sounds great. and so does breakfast. Keep trying to introduce her to new foods, but no forcing. Show her how Mommy eats the nice peas, or whatever. Teach by example, but if she is content you are doing it right.
