I dont know why. Every morning she has brown eye boogers and green-blackish nose boogers. If she is sleeping and she has nose boogers her breathing is loud and so I try to clean them out, but I they always come back. What is causing this?

  1. Many cats have upper respiratory infection. Take her to the vet probably they'll give you a medication what you can mix into the food. One of my kittens had the same thing and on the second day of the medication her eye buggers disappeared.

  2. If this has been going on for a while, then it's not a 'cold'.  If it was, your cat would probably be experiencing some lethargy and would discontinue eating and drinking.

Cats, like people, can have stuffy noses and mucous in the eyes.  If you understand why mucous is made, it should help make you understand why you cat may have it.

Basically, mucous is a trapping agent for dust and other debris.  It helps by not allow some of these particles to enter either the nasal passages and/or the lungs.  If it does, the mucous forms a protective barrier around the particle(s) so that it will not irritate the lungs or the nasal passage... resulting in what you see in your cats eyes and around it's nose.

If your cat is otherwise looking good, feeling good and you don't notice anything different in her behaviour, then more than likely it's related to dust allergens in the house that is irritating your kitty a bit.  Not to worry.  If you see any other problems, please seek your vets advice.

  3. Sounds silly, but have you tried changing brands of litter?  Maybe she is allergic to what you are using.  You can try a chemical free sort, like Feline Pine...

  4. Honestly it does sound like a cold.  My doctor always asks about my cats sneezing.  They always ask if it is clear.  If it is not then it is a concern.  I would not be as concerned about the eyes as the nose.  You should have her checked out.

  5. Could be a cold.  Take him to the vet.

  6. Sounds like he has a cold take it to a vet and they'll take care of it and let you know for sure

  7. Just make sure she doesn't stick her paw up there! lol
