  1. I would call his pediatrician and ask. Maybe they can prescribe some kind of medicine that will help it heal faster.

  2. call you dentist

  3. you can put canphophinqe on it. it is for mouth sores and you can get it at the pharmacy. If it is causing him too much pain you could put orajel on it or rub some whiskey on it. Yes Whiskey my mom used it when were were kids for when we were teething, if you do not feel comfortable with all of this then just call the dr.

  4. No. Ow. No. 2 year olds are hard enough, if you try salt water on that he's going to wail so hard your ears will bleed.

If it's not an emergency, I would say wait and call his pediatrician first thing in the morning and have him seen. If it gets worse, you should take him to the ER.

  5. No, he won't much appreciate you rubbing salt water on it at all.  The area will be tender to say the least, and what is likely to happen is that you will end up bitten, with a very irritated two year old on your hands.   If he's used to having his teeth brushed, that's really all you need to do.  You can use some of the teething gel to numb things before you do brush, and go really easy on the area near the injured gum.  Oral mucosa tends to heal pretty quickly, believe it or not- and within a day you should see it looking a lot better.  The gum edges of the cut may look whitish at first, but will pink up as it heals.  Just keep a maternal eye on it, and see how it's looking in a day.  You will also want to offer softer foods for a few days, nothing that he needs to chomp off a bit from.  Otherwise, he should do just fine.  If he fusses about it, and you know two year olds don't suffer in silence as a rule- then you can have a pediatric dentist have a look.  But fortunately, as I said, little ones heal pretty well and pretty quickly without needing a lot of interferance.  Regular dental hygiene should be all you need do.

  6. call you prediatrician first thing tomorrow...he should be okay, but with all the things 2 year olds put in their mouths, you dont want an infection like thrush to start!  Call them first thing.  He should be okay.  Keep him away from salty foods, too.

  7. DEFINITELY DO NOT USE ANY SALT FOR AN OPEN WOUND- THIS TANTAMOUNT TO TORTURE FOR THE 2 YEAR OLD. TAKE HIM TO THE ER OR YOUR PEDIATRICIAN FOR CARE.
