The cast covers his entire leg. He was draging himself by the second day and 1 week later he keeps trying to walk. Of course he throws a tantrum when we tell him no. What is the worst that can happen ?

  1. I have a suggestion that will indeed work.

If hes dragging it along something inside the cast can move possibly a bone.

to prevent this take your twenty month year old and buckle him in a stroller and walk with him maybe until he sleeps by the time u 2 get home there will be no dragging whatsoever continue to do so until the cast is off.

  2. to prevent him from walking, you might have to get him to spend more time in the pushchair or car seat where he cannot walk, but still see interesting stuff.

he will be bored and restless, but there's not much you can do about it.

the cast is there to support whatever bit of leg is damaged. if he walks, he's obviously not in pain from his leg. the cast should support him.

    .

but, if he's anything like my son, he does not know the meaning of walk, and runs everywhere... he could end up banging his leg and doing more damage

if he like the telly, sit him in the pushchair or a playpen to watch, that way he's not too bored but cant damage his leg anymore
