so i was driving home from a friends house in my 2000 ford contour. its about a 2 hour drive for me to get home and i was kinda in a rush so i wouldnt be late for work. the check engine light has been on...i had it checked out before and i was told the catalitic converter was bad but i was told it would not affect how the car runs and i dont have the money to get it fixed right now. so i was almost home and my car wouldnt excelerate...it just started to slow down so i pulled off the road and the oil light came on and so did the battery light then the car stalled. i waited a few min and it started back up and i drove home fine. could it have over heated? anyone have any ideas? i dont really know much about cars so any help would be great. thanks

  1. definately a car that should be taken to a service center that has the equipment to check everything at one time .  some anylizing machine, they hook up to your car.  doesnt take much time, and sometimes, the cost is waved, if you let them fix the problem at their nomal fee. good luck.
