I have 2003 altima 2.5L 4 cylinder with 80,000 miles. For about two weeks sometimes it would crank a couple of times before it started and sometimes it would just start right up. Now it started then died after about a second of running and all it does is crank. IT WONT START. HELP!

  1. I have the 03 altima 3.5 cylinder with very similar milage. I have had two starting problems with the car recently. The first was the key's computer chip went bad and had to be reprogrammed. It cost like 80 bucks at the dealer. The second issue was in the part of the engine's computer that controls the camshaft and crankshaft. It had to be replaced completely. The total bill for that was about 400 bucks at the dealer. So I would definitely take it in to the dealer and have them check your computer and your key. My brother has the 05 altima 2.5 4 cylinder. He has had an electronic problem or two with it. It is around the same milage as ours. I'm noticing a pattern here.
