I have a 2005 Acura TL. The navigation says Reading disc error or something like that. I took it to the dealer and he said I needed a new DVD for it so I bought that and it still says that error message?

  1. is your car under warranty?

the navi disc are known for scratching and then giving you an error message, but if you purchased a new disc and its still giving you that error message than its clearly the navi unit itself. there might be something on the actual laser (dust dirt) that may be causing the unit to think it can not read the disc. if its under warranty go to your local dealership speak with the advisor and tell them the problem. they should be able to complete several troubleshooting test that will tell them exactly where the problem is. if that does not work then you can always call american honda and file a formal complaint with the district case manager who will inturn contact the dealership and come to some sort of conclusion to assist you.

  2. u still have warranty...

that's why i don't like to pay 2000 for navigation.. i have the $100 one and it works the same way.

  3. bring it back to the dealer.

  4. I have a 2007 Type s TL and my nav disk already broke - the service advisor told me that this is a known problem and covered under warranty.  there ahould be a scratch around the disk at the edge - all the way around and uniform (not just random scratches)

  5. Since it is still in warranty, have the dealer repair it.
