My 21 month old daughter breaks out with a thrush-like rash in her mouth after eating watermelon.

I've heard of itchiness, but has anyone else had a reaction like this?

Allergy's Don't feed her anymore watermelons, you should also be careful around other fruits too

I always had that reaction to most fruit

but i loove watermelon and other fruits so I eat it anyway

I'm just careful not to eat too much and i cut them into squares to put in my mouth so it doesnt touch my skin and make it itchy and red

I'm allergic to watermelon, makes mouth itch, I don't think it's severe enough to kill me or anything but it does suck.

the proper course of action is to stop feeding watermelon - although that does suck because watermelon is bangin

Any body can be allergic to anything.  Stop giving it to her....she obviously has an allergy to it.

She's most likely having a reaction. Make an appointment with an allergist through your pediatrician to have her tested. In the meantime, avoid giving her any in case it really is an allergy. She might have a whopper of a reaction. Buy some dye-free Children's Benadryl to have on hand in the meantime in case you come up against a bad reaction.

When my nephew was between the ages of 6 months and 18 months, the same thing happened to him when he would have cinnamon. He's now a little over 2 years old and he's totally fine with it.

His parents took him to the doctor to make sure it wouldn't harm him if he accidentally had some cinnamon. You should take your daughter to the pediatrician, even if you decide to never give her watermelon again.

dont give it to her any more, she may be allergic or she may just react to the acid in the watermelon in this way. my daughter gets a rash on the outside of her mouth when she eats ketchup but shes not allergic. for now feed her something else and maybe she will grow out of it.
