  1. I think you need to convince him that he'll be ok and that cutting his hair isn't bad and that it's not going to hurt. Reassurance is going to be the key here as he's obviously scared of having it cut...

  2. All kids feel differently about having their hair cut. My eldest was great never had an issue, my youngest, what a drama!! His hair looks ridiculous because he hates having it cut. Yesterday, I did something I have never done but it worked... I sat him in front of Wiggles with a lolly pop and just went for it.

I would try taking him to one of those kiddies salons where they are sat in front of a cartoon and try the lolly, it may work, just ask the hairdresser to cut around the outside first then at least it will be neat ane even.

I am a hairdresser and do the kids in our mothers group and mostly they are ok, but still after 3 yrs one of the kids still screams the whole time. He knows me, we catch up all the time and he loves me but hates having his hair cut..

I hope this helps, Good luck!!

  3. Try doing it in the highchair while he eats a popsicle or something else that will keep him busy.

  4. My son was the same so my husband had to sit on a chair with my son on his knee facing him, and cuddling him while I cut his hair with the clippers.

Make the hair short and all one length, don't try and get fancy.

My son is now four and will sit through about half a hair cut before he starts getting upset about getting hair in his mouth or up his nose, but it is an improvement.

The lolly or ice block idea didn't work for us because the hair got stuck to that as well and still ended up in his mouth.

    Good luck.
