My 25hp mercury shakes left to right when idle worse when engaged, what do i do?

i changed the spark plugs

new fuel with fifty to one mix

it sounds up and down in pitch

swings violently left to right when at half throttle

sounds like you might've crossed a couple spark plug leads.

Adjust the Carb(s). If that doesn't help, clean or rebuild the carb(s).

I had a 25 hp Merc and loved it. However, I did have to replace the motor mounts at one point. And every couple of years she'd start running rough and the cure was to replace the reed valve seal. Hope this helps! Carlo
