Question:

My 27 month old has had mushy stools for a week. What can I do??

He had a fever last tuesday, wednesday and thursday. He doesnt have it anymore but he still has mushy stools which have now caused a diaper rash. How can I make his stools more solid??

  1. Bananas seem to work - no dairy at all, except hard cheese.  Get some pedialyte - they have them in freezie form too.  This will replace lost fluids and electrolytes.  Chicken broth also helps with this.  Get him to the doc - just to be sure.


  2. Call the doctor.  For a baby to have not-normal poops for a week is "not normal".  A baby -- even a 2 year old -- can dehydrate very quickly.  Give him some Pedialyte or Pediasure if you have it, and call the vet.
