My 2nd hand laptop cannot connect to wi-fi internet. Could re-formatting it help? If so, how to re-format?

Using my laptop, I've already connected to the internet using my 2G phone before but never thru wi-fi. And lately, i cannot connect thru my 2G phone. Could it be due to virus? Please help me. thanks...

  1. no need ot re-formating the system but check ur settings.and make sure u have the wi-fi connection.


  2. check in ur device manager to see iff it is working properly. make sure its not disabled in "connect to"

    u sure u have built in wireless? u dont need a wireless card? u need an installation disc so an xp one if u use xp

  3. LOL I know this sounds silly but since you mentioned your phone are you sure you even have wi-fi? Your phone uses cellular towers to connect to the internet but wi-fi is something completely different. You can get wi-fi at hotspots like in most coffee shops but at home you'll need service, a modem, and a router. Hope that didn't come off the wrong way just trying to help. Promise.

  4. I´m sure, this notebook has not the original system running anymore. I think there is another system on it now and who ever set it up before did not set up the original notebook drivers. So I´m pretty sure all you have to do is to install the right drivers...
