Okay its 2wire 1701HG Gateway Router. Im useign a normal modem from SBC. I tried connecting with the router and both Power and Local Network were steady green, but broadband link is blinking green. When i open internet explorer it goes to a website that says sprint and ask me to put in the static ip address and gives me two options: to put the ip address or retry. When i press retry it does the same thing over and over. Then if i press to put ip address. it asks me for ip address, subnet mask, default gateway. then it asks for primary and secondary DNS which is required to answer. but what ever i put it says resolution has been solved to close and reopen internet explorer. I do so and gives me the same problem. Please help me with any information because i need this fix asap, Thank you for your time

  1. Well, you have a real issue. You say "Im useign a normal modem from SBC" -- the 2wire 1701HG is a modem/router so it should REPLACE the existing modem not connect to it!

You can find the setup information at

http://2wire.com  just click support and downloads.. you can download the manual for the 1000 series.

For SBC or SPRINT you have to set your 1701 to PPPoE and enter your username and password information so that the router can pull an IP from the DSL line!
