My 3 1/2 month old son just started screaming everytime he is ready to fall asleep. This is totally new.?

He hasn't always done this. He started about two weeks ago, screaming before he collapses from exhaustion. He screams sometimes for as much as an hour and a half, and nothing we do (walking, rocking, bouncing, singing, white noise...) seems to work? Any suggestions?

Get the book happiest baby on the block asap!!  The 5 S's work wonders!  Swaddle him up with his arms down nice and tight so that he can't wriggle them free,  hold him on his side in your arms and go shhhhhhh in his ear louder than his screams and jiggle him like hes vibrating.  Make sure you support his head. Give him something to suckle on too. Continue SHHHing until he is asleep. That book is the only reason I made it through the first six months of my son.  You have to do all of these things at once.  He will go right out.  If he spits out whatever you give to him to suckle on don't sweat it.  Just do the rest.
