He tells me and his dad that his 'legs hurt' pretty much every day. He says that the pain is in the bottom half of his legs down the front.

I think that it is growing pains....but I'll prob make an appointment with our GP at the beginning of next week just to see what he says. (I'm seeing the HV tomorrow too so I'll ask her aswell).

Anybody elses child have this?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  1. My daughter complains of her legs complaining a lot lately (4 yrs old), it's just growing pains with her.

  2. Yep, growing pains most likely.

You might try putting him in a bath of epsom salt in the evenings. I think you put in about 1/4 of a cup for every 50 lbs of body weight in a tub with about 6 inches of warm water for 20 minutes or so. The right amount will be on the box. Don't add bubble bath or anything until towards the end of the bath and just let him play while soaking in it.

I did that when my kids were growing and it really did help and I wasn't dosing them with tylenol or ibuprophen more than I wanted.

  3. its just growing pains although i have never experienced them

  4. its pretty much growing pains. Most kids report pains in the front of their thighs, in the calves, or behind the knees.

  5. My cousin was around 3 when he started complaining that his legs hurt too. Hes 5 now and still tells us, we got him checked but the doctors couldnt find the problem. Your best best is to get him checked, and if they cant find the problem. Get him checked again.

  6. sounds like growing pains put it is good to call dr just to make sure.
