  1. My daughter did the same thing and yes it was aggravating lol But hes just going through a phase.

  2. He's too young to be showing any sort of feeding routine at this point, so to answer your question, yes, it's normal!

  3. Yes, this is normal. Just keep feeding on demand. More likely than not, he is going through the first of many growth spurts.

    Congrats on the little one!

  4. Yes, the feeding cycle is just a phase.  You do not want to encourage him to stay up after feeding and burping.  I recommend, you change him, feed him, burp him, put him back to bed and given that he is all taken care of, let him cry himself to sleep if necessary.

They will try to change their environment to suit their perceived needs.  Do not have the radio or tv on if possible, at night keep the room dark so as to not entice any stimulation.  Sing and rock him during feeding/burping, get him back to bed.  You have to train him, not the other way.

  5. I agree with Kate

  6. I'm a little confused on the timing here...but remember every baby is different, they go thru stages where all they want to do is eat, then it slows down...

so what happened to him eating 4oz? just not taking that much at one feeding?

At 3 weeks, it can be very frustrating, hang in there, you are doing fine! Let him eat what he wants for now...

  7. Yes this is the schedule my 3 wk old is on right now.  He is starting to stay up more b/c he is just getting a little older and starting to experience things more when he is awake.  I know this hard b/c your sleep starts to lack even more than before, but stick with it! I know my little one is going through a growing phase that's why he is up more and eating more.  He is eating more even though he is not eating as much, but he is eating more often now.  Be patience, at 3 wks old they still don't have a schedule yet.

  8. Yes it's normal. Babies at that age may want to eat every 1-3 hours. There is no set schedule at this time.

  9. It is a phase. I have a 17month old. She went through a similar phase and it does pass. The hospital told us to wake her up every two hours. It really took its toll on my wife and I but it did pass. Eventually, if the baby sleeps let them sleep. You will know when they need something.

  10. id say he is fine ,he is finding himself ,making a routine,he will settle down soon ,it means less sleep for you at times but im sure he is worth it

  11. Yes, from what I know, this is normal. Babies tend to change there schedules in the first 4 or 5 months of there lives so you can't always be sure when they'll eat and when they'll sleep. I am not yet a mother but I deal with children and I have 9 siblings, lots of babies!

And congratulations on your new son!

  12. Its completely normal for the baby.
