How do I help her learn..? I play the guitar a bit but i'm not much of a drummer.. Do we just play around with it and have fun together or should I try something with a little structure.. Basic beats things like that..?

  1. Let her play but show her the beats in other music so she can start to learn to play along. You could play guitar and she could be the drummer.

  2. Right now just let her have fun and learn to love music. Maybe she will be the next great music maker of our time. There will be plenty of time for instruction later.

  3. She will learn through play. So have fun with her and muck about with the bongo drum. Later on you can add structure.

  4. Definitely make it fun above all else...she's so little and still just finds it amazing that she can hit something and get a noise out of it.

Having said that, there would be no harm at all in having a back track playing now and then and playing with her in time to the beat. She won't be able to do it now (well I guess she might), but thats not the point.

As long as you don't push her or criticise her if she's not in time then it can only be beneficial and fun for both of you.

  5. shes 3 so let her explore it by having fun

when she gets older she'll probably want to teach herself

    best of luck xo.
