My 3 year old had a dream last night that had me a little worried. She dreamed that there were spiders coming in my back door of my house and crawling all ove me and my husband and all over her, this really worries me because she is only 3 and it scared he so bad she would not go back to sleep for 2 hours, I have to insure her that there was nothing to be afraid of.

My question is... is there anything to be worried about i know our dreams warn us of things, i have not been able to find any thing on this. DO any of you out there in the world have any thing that might help.

  1. Dreams with spiders... Did she see one.. Are you and your husband giving her a lack of space?

  2. Children have wild imaginations. My advice is to not take this dream so seriously. If these dreams keep occuring, you should get her a child psychologist to try to figure out the conflict.

  3. Children's dreams, like adults, help them to process things they may not really process while they're awake. She could just be spooked by spiders or seen something in a movie, etc but not had a way to discuss it during her waking life. SO, it shows up in her dream to allow her to observe that it really did bother her.

Or it could represent a stream of things going on in her life that she worries about destroying your family - this could be arguments, or other things she's seen happen - such as a recent death or disappearance of a grandparent or someone else who has been a part of her life.

Either way, I taught my son to keep a dream journal with words and pictures - at her age, pictures. There he could truly observe and process what he experienced, and he could take control.  He had horrible dreams of monsters. I asked what would be less scary than monsters. He said "Ice cream".

So, in his dream journal we drew a monster being turned into a scoop of ice cream so he could eat him all up. Then when monsters appeared in his dream, that's what he did.

  4. I doubt spiders are going to crawl all over you, but the dream could mean bad luck or alot of different things.

It was probably just a childish dream.  Take the time to show her how great spiders can really be.

  5. With children the first thing you need to find out is whether she was watching something on t.v. that could have lead to this dream.  The other thing with children is that t.v. and video games just before bed can lead to nightmares because it causes their minds to be more active throughout the night.  If you have anything to worry about it is the fact that she might be interpreting things you and your husband are dealing with as affecting the family.  If you have been fighting over something lately she might be sensing that and therefore having the nightmares.  Good luck!

  6. hey don't worry children are obviously more sensitive to feeling and there surroundings especially one so young.

Spiders are smaller than us, yet many people fear them.  this is not only due to   their apperance but the way spiders carry themselfs, how they seem to crawl our brains are telling us that spiders are intelligent species from they way they creep.

In her spinning of the web and devouring her prey she parallels the waxing and waning of the Moon, involution and evolution, the alternation of birth and death. The spider, as the Moon, then weaves the destiny of everything in the world."

so basically this means feelings or being trapped

mayb he feels trapped or mayb he's scared of spiders

if this is not a reoccuring dream i'll asure you there i s nothing to worry about!

    sweet dreams
