  1. Just know that you did the right thing by calling poison control and taking him to the hospital swiftly. It amazes me that a three year old was able to get into a bottle with the safety caps, if you get it without safety caps, you can ask your pharmacist for one. This will help, it is not full proof, but it's a start.

This is what I found on the internet, so I hope this helps:

If a person overdoses on Zoloft, the symptoms can vary. The most common Zoloft overdose symptoms include:

    Drowsiness

    Vomiting

Increased heart rate (tachycardia) or slow heart rate (bradycardia)

    Nausea

    Dizziness

    Agitation

    Shakiness (tremor).

Other Zoloft overdose symptoms may include, but are not limited to:

    Coma

    Seizures

    Delirium

    Hallucinations

    High blood pressure (hypertension)

    Fainting

    Loss of life.

Loss of life following a Zoloft overdose has been reported in about 1 percent of cases. The risk of death is significantly higher when the overdose also includes other medicines.

    Zoloft Overdose: Treatment

The treatment for a Zoloft overdose will vary. If the overdose was recent, the healthcare provider may administer certain medicines or place a tube into the stomach to "pump the stomach." Treatment may also involve supportive care. This type of care consists of treating the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. For example, supportive treatment options for a Zoloft overdose may include:

Fluids through an intravenous line (IV)

Medicines to increase blood pressure, control an irregular heart rhythm, or control seizures

Closely monitoring the heart and lungs

A breathing tube to help with breathing

Other treatments based on complications that occur.

  2. Hey Earth Godess, Can't you read?! His wife took there son to the hospital. Open your eyes.

Sorry I wish I had the answer for you sir, I just felt the need to respond to the above noter because I know how it is to have a question and have 90% of the people be complete ***** because they don't bother to read the whole question.

Hopefully everything turns out alright with your son.

  3. Hmmm, he might have some runny bms and a tummy ach. Zoloft gives adults that..Check the side effects for adults and they times that by 2 for a small child.. But if he went to the er, they could have given him some charcoal or a stomach pump ..It might even drop his blood pressure, ( shock)..

  4. call poison control or take him to the er.  You can never be too careful.  the er won't make you wait, this is an emergency.  Sorry , I didn't read the whole question either.  But you should call poison control they will be able to tell you I'm sure.

  5. I would suggest you take some yourself. You are going to need it.

  6. why are you not getting him to the hospital GET YOUR A$$ OFF OF THE COMPUTER AND GO NOW

WHY IN THE h**l ARE YOU LEAVING DRUGS OUT WHERE KIDS CAN GET THEM!!!!!

  7. in high doses he might have seizures or seratonin sysndrome. But 50 mg isn't that high a dose. He may just get a stomach ache. I took zoloft for 3 years. I think he will be fine.

  8. Hope everything is ok.

  9. I tried to google search it but got no luck, I'm sorry. And goodluck with your son. I feel so bad I couldn't help  :(
