  1. it is but normal for young children especially toddlers to act like that. it is their way of gaining autonomy and discovering the world. they are also proned to doing repetitive acts, specifically those which give them pleasure. so don't fret too much. just be thankful your child does that, which means he is growing like a normal child should be.

    good luck!

  2. Kids are inquisitive and curious.  Some ask questions because they want to know the answers but for some, it is just  to call your attention specially if they feel they have been "abandoned"  for long. And sometimes, too, keep on asking and using your answers for their next questions.  It gets a little irritating at times.

Like one occasion my niece, who was 4 years old at that time, asked her mother: "Why is the sky blue?"

My cousin said, "Because God made them blue."

Then in her sweet little voice, asked again "Why did God made them blue?"

That started a series of questions and answers that all came from one original question.  My cousin rolled her eyes and did not answer anymore.

  3. My niece did this for a long time. She mostly quit with me. When she would ask why, I would answer her first question. After that why questions would be answered with 'why do you think?' She would stop after a while. She did think it was pretty funny me always asking her why.

  4. He is getting a response from you....askin why requires a response, and he is getting it.  Hang in there :-)

  5. hope you would just take it as that, its natural for them to be so... just give them the honest, real, and to the point answer because they would remember when they grow up...

when they asked a question over something, its the best time that they are most receptive to receive the new knowledge base on the answer you'll give... i just hope you'll never give the i don't know answer for that will frustrate them... i know this because i remember some of my innocent but pure questions in search for understanding things when i was 3years old myself, and though am now 28, i still remember how frustrated i was every time i got the don't know answer... hope you'll help build and develop their learning interest by always giving them right answers to their questions or if you're not sure of the answer yourself, it would always be a fun activity searching for the answer with your kid....

  6. It is natural. The whole world is new. It is as my Mum said - a phase he/she is going through. On the other hand, I am 43 and it is still my favorite question.

  7. He is at the stage where he is discovering the world and luckily he has you to look up to.  This stage is a difficult one because it makes you realize you actually dont have all the answers and this can be frustrating.  But I suggest you encourage his love for learning that will take him very far in life. When you know the answer, give it simply, (for example why do babies cry? because that's their form of communicating) other times throw the ball back at him letting him answer his own questions. You can also tell him, I don't know but lets look it up when we can at the library, at home or wherever.

When all that asking drives you to the edge play a lets be quiet game, but by all means NEVER tell him to shut up...you might regret later that he doesn't open up to you.

  8. totally normal. wai it out

  9. Just remember that it's NOT okay to hit him with a rolled-up newspaper

  10. Believe it or not my 18mo did this for a while.  She couldn't say much but asked why about everything.  She had figured out a way to converse that didn't really require understanding.  When my 4yo does this she does mostly want a real answer.  Sometimes I just answer and sometimes I ask, "why do you think?".  Sometimes I just laugh and ignore it or say enough already.  Sometimes I say I will explain when you are 8.

  11. funny thing

    my boss does too.
