  1. There are fleet glycerin suppositories that will work within 1 hour.  I have used these on my son starting before 1 year.  They are children's so I cut off a portion of it.  Use a lubricant like vaseline.  Also there are infant drops called little tummies.  They work within 6 hours.  A 3 yr. old can take colace, which is a stool softner.  Miralax is sold over the counter, and that can be taken too.  The juices, like the other answers said are good.

  2. When my baby was little I was told to give him 1tsp of mineral oil in his bottle twice a day. After one whole day of that the next day out it came! SO you could probably check on the dosage and put some of that in her water/milk/juice. I've also heard of karo syrup or definitely try prune juice or prunes. I know they make apple/prune juice and my boy likes to drink that.

  3. lots of apple juice to get her to pass what already in there. Then get her to eat some yobaby yogurt with the live bacteria in it or go to the health food store and buy a bottle of probiotics in the refrigerated section. It comes in powder form and can be mixed in her food. It should relieve and eliminate the constipation problem.

  4. The fastest answer would be to use a Child suppository.  It is really simple and doesn't hurt them at all.  If you don't want to do that you can always buy Fletcher's laxative.  It comes in a liquid that is supposed to taste like Root beer.  However, once you have used the laxative once, you should switch over to Miralax.  That is powder that you can mix in their drink.  The difference it that the Miralax will help regulate them. Just call your Doctor and ask them for the right dosage of the Miralax.  You don't want to use a laxative too much.  I hope this helps!

  5. try mixing a little prune juice in her regular juice. raisins may help plenty of water or a stool softener for kids

  6. First I would try apple juice or prune juice, maybe see if you can get her to eat prunes, if not, I think they make a laxative for kids called Pedia Lax.  It should be available at your drugstore or Walmart.

  7. baby fleet e***a from grocery store. then give plenty of water.

  8. My usual remarks:

Don't use Miralax - it's been linked to everything from epileptic-type fits to skeletal damage (see the Miralax Yahoo Group for the full horror!)

The suppositories are safer, esp, for regular use (because of their local action, and the fact they're not stimularnt-irritants, they're not addictive in the way that oral laxatives are).  And you can get an infant size version (1 gram dose) which you don't have to cut up.  One glycerine suppository is guaranteed to make her do a smelly in a few minutes!

  9. Prunes, grapes, beans or call her Doctor...

  10. Prune juice (or any juice for that matter will help), you can give her a glycerin suppository (not pleasant though), also call your pediatrician to make sure anything you try is ok. Keep her off of foods that are constipating (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast).
