She has a history of bipolar and syco promblems I have tried so hard to help her. i have done everything under the sun for this girl. she is the youngest of my four children. I took her in five years ago hoping to straighten her out and show her all the love a mother could have for ones child. she has done nothing but cause me heart ache. all i want is legal coustady of my grandson. she has already gave up 3 other children i could not bear to see this happen to this one.

  1. contact a lawyer to see what you need to do, it shouldnt be that hard since your daughter isnt mentally capable and has given up 3 already, if you had her ok it, it would be even easier.  Good luck.  Thank God for grandmothers like you, you are a blessing to this child.  Good luck!

  2. i'm so sorry that your daughter is ill.

contact your local department of human services.  if you tell them the situation, they can arrange for you to have temp. custody of the child. however, prior to perm custody, she will have to terminate parental rights (unless they ar terminated by the court).

  3. Call an adoption attorney. It sounds like you are the best parent for this child. Even if it costs a ton of money, it's worth it, right?

  4. You should definitely talk to a lawyer and see what options you have, I know grandparents do have more rights than they used to. Good Luck

  5. Go down to the court house and file for temporary emergency full custody-you will be granted this because you have a notorized statement from her. Call Cjild protective services and the division of youth and family services-they will help you. Good Luck-God Bless.

  6. my husband my self have recently adopted our son two children. it has't been a easy road but we knew what we had to do to protect these two babies. And if we had not of done so  no teling where they would be now. It's sad but happening everyday. See you a good attorney and get it over with just tell your daugter it's for the babies on good and really her;s too

  7. What's your question? There was no question there.

If you're talking about getting custody of the child. It depends on state. Some have different rules than others.

Sometimes you have to wait a few months. If she makes no form of contact, at all,(i.e. letters, phone calls, coming over) then usually after 3-6 months you can legally odtain custody of the child without the parents permission. The notarized copy of emergency, is only that. Something to give you the go head to get medical attention if the child needs it. Usually the mother has to be shown unfit. Even CPS and most courts don't consider the mother leaving the child in the care of a responsible family member unfit. They'll turn it around to say, she was doing something in the best interest of the child. Now if there is a history of abuse to the child, drug abuse, or proof of leaving the child unattended for extended periods of time, then you may have something.

Best to discuss it with a lawyer.

  8. contact the local DHR and have yourself declared his legal garduian.  and go from there if you dont know where she is or she is not capable of supporing him then you should not have any problems.

  9. Get a lawyer now so that you can get emergency guardianship of your grandson.  That will then give you the time to get permanent guardianship.

I have 2 relatives with bipolar. You have my sympathy. It is really hard to help when medication doesn't help.  Has nothing to do with love and everything to do with someone who is emotional unstable through no real fault of her own.  Good luck.

  10. I would contact the sate and report her for abandonment, since you are the closet relative and he has been living with you the state will most likely leave him with you.  The state prefers to place children with relatives first if they can.  Good luck I wish you the best.
