Question:

My '99 Ford Explorer hesitates at 33 MPH before kicking into gear?

It's a very brief hesitation; maybe a half second. We had the tranny replaced 2 mos. ago. What could this hesitation be caused by? My mechanic suggests, hearing this by phone, it's something to do with the cooling system, but the car isn't overheating. Your take?

  1. there is a re-flash for the pcm aka computer lots have that prob simple

    go to the dealer for the update it will go away


  2. good mechanic. throttle sensor

  3. My take is the tranny. Even if it's new... have it looked at.

  4. was it like that wend u got car or started later

    may be TPS throttle positioner out of range or defective

    need adjustment

    tranny computerize
