  1. Ginger

  2. Strap him the the roof...he might still get sick, but not on the upholstery...

  3. My breed is notorious for being bad travellers.  You have to keep at it, basically.  Start by putting pup into the back of the car, with some toys (crate is good) and just sitting there with him.  Do this for a while.  Then gradually move on to actually driving the car somewhere - hopefully ending up with something that's nice - a walk in a park/fields etc.  So he starts to associate going in the car with a big treat at the end of the trip.

Some people say feed, just a little, before a journey because there's nothing more wretched in trying to throw up on an empty stomach.  Others avoid feeding before a trip like the plague!!  I've used Skullcap and Valarian tablets, most often they just come back up with whatever's gone in already.  What cured my extremely billious most recent boy was repeated trips to the vet when he got a grass seed in his mouth.  Took 3+ months to work it's way out and that involved a huge number of trips in the car.  By the end of it all, he was cured of the travel sickness!!

Crating them, with a cover over the top can help - gives them something to anchor themselves in rather than being flung around in the back - and it's safer for travelling too.

Speak to your vet about products that are available.  And good luck

  4. all dogs do this when young.they just grow out of it.try not to feed him before you take him in the car thou.

  5. take him out in another car

  6. I was just looking into this for my dogs the other day and it is recommended to give them some Dramamine, same stuff we use just not as much. The dosage is according to how much the dog weighs. You should be able to look this up. Another thing is Rescue Remedy which is good for anxiety.  I got it at the pet store for like 8 bucks.

  7. Playing with him in the car, without going anywhere is a good start, before you try the real thing. After that:-

Preferably,no food before you go out.

Get some travel sickness pills from the vet.,& give them to him in plenty of time beforehand.

    Leave a window open.

Start with VERY short trips,i.e stop before he gets to the throwing-up stage,& then give him a real treat, like a short walk, with lots of fusses.

If you get away with that,do it again on the way home.

When you get back, give him a favourite treat,& more fuss.

Hopefully, after a while doing this,he'll start to think of going out in the car as something exciting,& you should have no more bother.

  8. Laugh if you like. I have told several people about this and they laughed. I desperation, when they tried this and it ALWAYS WORKS.

This is safe and it won't make your dogs drowsy. Beat the white of an egg with a teaspoon of glucose powder and two teaspoons of cooled boiled water. Give this to each dog about twenty minutes before you travel. Do this for the next few journeys and THIS WILL CURE THE DOGS OF TRAVEL SICKNESS. Also try to get them to like the car by driving them to a field and taking them for their walk. You could also try feeding them in the car if this is practical. By doing this they will become accustomed to getting into the car on a regular basis.

  9. don't let him eat before you go in the car.

  10. Ask your vet, a lot of dogs get car sick. If you go on long trips, a type of valium is what a vet prescribes for animals to relax them and knock them out on the trip. But if it's just around town, ask your vet what you can give your dog to ease his stomach.

  11. Don't bring him?

  12. dont feed him before you go feed him after my dog used to get it until i changed his feeding time

    x

  13. I would try putting him in a crate (if you don't already). This could make him feel 'safer' so he may stay more calm. Also, if possible, don't feed your dog right before you drive somewhere. hope this helps!
