  1. No it's not okay at 101 degrees. Find another pediatrition or opinion. There could be something internally wrong. Take him to the er. When my son ran a fever of over 101 at my home, everyone said he was fine and that he was teething. I couldn't watch him burn up so I took him to the ER and they did it rectally (when I did under the arm) and it was 103.8!! Turns out he had croupe and pnemonia. Take him in if it persists. Like I said, it could be internally. Good luck to you and your son. It's hard watching kids be sick.

    EDIT

I would just take him in for a well child check just to see. 4 months is soon to teeth, but it has happened before so I'm not doubting you. Maybe try some teething tablets? Or just give him ibuprofen at night so he can calm his temp down.

  2. I think your dr. is right.  He's probably just teething.  But if it goes higher, better get him checked--may be an ear infection.
