  1. Two things you could try 1 either feed him less before burping or give him a little more before burping. Around 4 months some babies are able to take 4oz at a time before burping, but some still need to be burped every 2-3oz. 2. Try using a pacifier when burping him, this calms him enough that he will relax and allow the burp to come up. I do not believe in using the mylicon drops at all, babies can start depending on them and they do not learn how to release their gas. Another thing that we do is drape the child over our arm while we pat on their backs (allow his legs to dangle) like when you carry him facing away from your body. This puts some pressure on his belly and helps some babies. Good luck.

  2. Here is a great website. Check it out: http://parentspackage.org/

  3. he must swallow a lot of air, try a different nipple on his bottle.

that, and a single bubble vs lots of little ones. try rocking him, facing you with his body at an angle, his head at your left shoulder. that can help the bubble make it to his esophagus. even belly time could help, if he can push up then its even better. and try to make burps funny, it could be frightening for him, even painful.

my son would get a look on his face, and make a strange sound, and then projectile vomit. but he was never gassy.

just count your blessings. and try the angular approach.

  4. stop trying to burp him, he can probable do it on his own.  try those mylicon gas drops in his bottle.

  5. What technique do you use to burp him?

Try some variations on whatever you're doing.   One that worked well with my son was to slowly rock him back and forth - not much, just like about 11 to 1 O'Clock angles.

  6. Have you tried different ways, I know my son started to hate being burped on my shoulder, so I now sit him on my lap and use my forearm and  forefinger and thumb to hold his face LOL I have no clue why he prefers this, but he does. Also maybe if you walk around while burping, he may be more calm. Im sure youve tried that though LOL. I also noticed sometimes if I lay my son down flat for a minute or two and let him stretch, when I pick him up, he just lets it out, gets the air bubble up I guess. And sometimes if i just rub him in cirucular directions it just comes up. MAybe burp more often. Oh an you could also try the mylicon (sp?) drops and maybe that will eliminate all gas...hope this helps..

  7. GRIPE WATER is great for hiccups/gas/colic.

  8. my son HATES the shoulder burp but loves when i bend my knees up and lay him tummy down facing away then pat his back. also loves sitting while i hold his chin and pat him
