  1. I'm confused as to what kind of preschool has a 4 year old "read" a speech.

If you're looking for something for her to do, I suggest you let her "read" from a favorite book that she probably has memorized anyway.

By doing this, you will also ease any anxiety she may have - just tell her she'll be reading her book to everyone just like the teacher does - that's what most 4 year olds want anyway, to be like their teachers.

  2. Are you for real???  ....... "valedictory"? Or do you mean  that she is Valedictorian of her preschool?  Get a grip Mommy Dearest!  If she is that intelligent she doesn't need you to write a speech for her.  And of a preschool???  I've been in education for 27 years. If you are sending a child to a preschool that has a valedictorian you are paying for a whole lot of smoke blowing up the old...... Put your money to better use, grammar and spelling lessons for you, and let your child be a child first, there is plenty of time for structured school.

  3. Have her sing a song or read a poem...

This is very interesting... why would they be asking your child to do this?  And why are they "grading" the children in preschool?  Already into competition...how sad!

At most "preschool graduations"...there was usually a group poem read with a few children saying a verse or two but never just one child.  And usually some songs are sung.

    Good luck.

  4. you're kidding, right?  a 4 year old read a speech?  Have the children all say what they want to be when they grow up - or what their favorite part of preschool was.

  5. Well my daughter is 4 also and in pre-school.. but she doesnt know how to read yet.. let alone read a speech infront of people.. i would suggest you let her sing some songs she learned in school.. or talk about how much fun she had..

  6. Just have her thank the teacher for teaching all kinds of fun stuff and how she hopes to keep having fun in Kindergarten.
