She said she likes how it sounds. What should I do? Do I tell her to rename it or keep the name Tampon?

  1. Just let her keep it. One of my cousins once named her fish "Booger".

It will be a funny story when she gets older!

  2. That is the best laugh I've had today!  (Laughing with, not laughing at).  Of course she should keep the pet's name.  Kids are such a blessing, so innocent.

  3. let her keep it and remind her of it when she is older and she brings a boy over to the house.

  4. ahahaha keep it

" Honey come home and play with tampon. hes getting lonely and hungry!"

it will be fun 10 years from now.

  5. i think its fantastic!  no harm no foul.  it cant be too embarrasing since only people invited to you home will really hear about it.

  6. It's not that bad....when my daughter was 3, she would say that she watched movies with "lesbians", and her brother acted like one. This freaked me out, so I asked her what a L*****n was...and she said a monster....lol.

That used to get a big laugh, considering my cousin is a L*****n....she still laughs at that one.

  7. watch out for  where she sticks the hamster.

  8. I think that's hillareous!  You could explain to her that it is not a name but then you would have to try to explain to her what it is and she is probably too young to comprehend periods and all the other questions it would lead to.  I would keep the name; you will get used to it suprisingly quickly and it is a great story!

  9. let her keep it

it 'll breing back memories someday

  10. that's hilarious. keep the name.

  11. Go with "Tampy".

  12. Leave her be... She's only 4 after all. If she likes how it sounds  she likes how it sounds. It will be a cute story when she gets older.

  13. HA! This is the first question on Y/A that made me laugh out loud.....

You have to keep the name.  Maybe try to encourage a nickname, but you've GOT to get your daughter on videotape talking about her hamster named Tampon....that tape will be treasured when she gets older!

  14. You should keep the name (it is too funny!) and make sure you video tape her so she can laugh about it in the future. I wasn't sure if the hamster was live or stuffed animal. If it's stuffed you should let her keep it but try to get her a new hamster with a better name, and encourage her to take that one on trips instead of "Tampon". Good Luck!

  15. hahahahahaa....thats awesome!

does she know what a tampon is?

you should probably explain to her what the name means, and then ask her if she still really wants to name it that.

chances are that she will want to change the name, but let her decide. you cant just tell her to rename it without a good reason ya know?

  16. Try asking her to give the hamster a nickname. Then just always refer to the hamster by that name.

  17. LMAO I think thats adorable.

  18. Who cares?  Let her keep it.

  19. I would recommend changing it only to save her from saying it out loud and having your guests wonder about your household however it is just a name and there is no harm in it and it could lead to some hilarious table talk for your guests and when she gets older. If you do let her keep the name I would recommend saving the bear when she gets married to conduct the ritual embarrassing your daughter. For the most part it sounds cute and can only bring a smile. However if you a friends with more strict house guests you might want to change it, other then that there is little to no harm I can see anyhow

  20. LMAO.....  OMG!  I have not had a good laugh in a long time.  Sorry but the things kids say sometimes.  I would just let her leave the name.  How long to hamsters live anyway?  And plus when she gets older and has boys coming around it would be a great story to embarrass her with...LOL

  21. I would say keep the name, it's cute and all, but the sad truth is that you have to consider how it's going to look if you take her to preschool and she's saying that.  Would you feel comfortable explaining to her teacher, preacher, instructor, et al, why a little girl calls a small animal a word usually reserved for something that ends up in a v****a?  Change the name to Lemmiwinks.

  22. lmao.  so funny. yeah keep the name but maybe try to find a word that sounds like it for when people come over and you can say that your daughter doesn't say the name right, it's actually......?

  23. Let her keep the name, it wont cause any harm and I'm sure your guests will have some laughs over it! I agree with the poster who said to remind her of it when she brings home her first boyfriend!

  24. Oh my, that's the funniest thing I've heard all day! Kids are the best, HA!

Leave it, when she's older you'll be able to laugh about it :)
