My 4 year old needs a labial frenectomy. Anyone else had this done?

HAs anyone out there had this minor and fairly common procedure done and more importantly anyone's child had it done. Was it painful, do they use a light general in a child, how fast did it heal. Any experiences would be a help. Thanks - a very nervous mum.
