  1. aha, yea its normal.

my little cousin is 4, and is alway lying.

    and blaming it on ME!

    haha

  2. Yes it is normal and you should be happy that he got this kind of imagination because at that age we shouldn't call it lying..

Trust me he's gonna be a smart successful man if someone took care of him

  3. Yeah, its normal but as their growing up either teach them not to lie or they'll learn to not lie as they get older. If you really want to know the truth sweet-talk them or something.

  4. haha I have a 5 year old niece who constantly lies. For me, I try my best as an uncle to teach her how lying is wrong and lucky for me she has cousins her age that also tells her how bad lying is. A thing I do is take a toy away if she lies. I guess it's a little phase they go through, hopefully!

  5. Apparently the ability to lie is a signifier of intelligence in young children. Making up stories is also quite creative for a child so young. I'm not saying that is it ok and obviously dhe needs to know that it is wrong but. Just thought you might like to know.

  6. yea - there's nothing you can do , it comes down to parenting and what behaviour their parents will tolerate

  7. I have a 4 year old son and he can sometimes be like that too.  If it is more making up stories than actual straight out lying I wouldn't make a big deal of it.  It is just a phase they go through - for example stuff like my son saying stuff that him and his friends did at daycare that I absolutley know aren't true and saying stuff that they would like to be true and saying it as a fact are stuff that I just go along with.  When he is saying stuff that isn't true to get out of trouble I tell him simply, you told me you did .......... but I saw you do ........... that is making up stories, in future I would like you to tell me the truth, otherwise you will have to go to timeout for lying to me.  Just state it firmly and don't argue with them or make too much of a deal about it.
