It's on the left side. It's been hurting him for a couple days now and it seems a bit swollen and warm in the area. I thought maybe he just bit himself or had a mouth sore but he was crying about it last night. Do you know what it is? Should I call his pediatrican or take him to the dentist?

  1. Call the peditritian ask them if this is something they should see. If they can't do anything, take him to the dentist.

  2. Just have him swish some salt water in his mouth.  It should heal up in a day or so.  Salt water heals sores in the mouth very quickly.

  3. I would see a doctor just in case.

  4. He might have bit himself try putting something on it if it doesnt get better then go get it checked out.

  5. I think he probably bit it. That's very typical.

One problem is that after you bite a spot, it swells and then you are more apt to bit it again. It's a cycle but once the swelling goes down it should heal just fine. Try giving him a cold Popsicle for the swelling. Have him drink something cold before he eats.

Here's the thing, mouth sores take longer to heal b/c they are a wet wound. Any wet wound takes a while to heal.

Wait until Wednesday and if it's not gone then go.  OR if it appears to get worse/more painful.

I'd at least give it until Monday.

  6. Ur son ate too much fried stuff...like fried chicken, barbacue ribs, or potato chips.   Give him some coolen like...water melon.  Give him all he wants.  It will go away in a day or 2.

  7. Warm Salt Water Rinse 3 X Day for 2-3 days then Pediatrician.

  8. Go to the pediatrician. It could be where he bit himself, an ulcer, or thresh, or hand mouth feet disease. Avoid anything acidic like juice, or yeasty, like yogurt. Try to keep his hands out of his mouth and wash his hands often. If he uses special drinking cups or sippy cups, I would wash those twice in the dishwasher.

    Good luck!
