Last year he was in a special needs class as he has a speech delay. However, by October he was showing severe stress signs that he was unable to handle the environment and I took him out. This was a voluntary program and he received speech at a private office after. This year he is in a regular prek class in the school and receives speech at school but he is now crying at night and in the morning saying he does not want to go to school. He is super smart (he can already do simple addition and spelling) and behaves very well at school even receiving a school award for being super in class. He has a sibling in a close room and sees neighbor kids during the day. He tells me the teachers yell but in my experience all teachers probably do at some point especially in the younger ages. My idea is that he is probably not comfortable here as he follows the rules and would rather just learn and play then cause problems and get in trouble which is what I see the other kids doing. takeout??

  1. yea i think u pressuring  ur kid to much, he just want to play,i had a speech problem not  really i just didnt talk and they though i had a problem. i think it better if u put him in kargetion when he five. It fun u learn and play. Your son not goingto cry. it sad when u hear a boy cry X(

  2. the teacher is probally using an outside voice .. you know when kids are noisy and you have to get their attention! but i would guess your son may have a sensory problem with noise and sounds my daughter was the same way and we found out she have a sensory defict when i speak to her the speach therapist and audiologist told me that she hears my voice like charlie browns  mom's voice remember whaa whaa whaa  not really funny but she did not understand me if i was not in front of her that can be a problem too just a suggestion

  3. if hes ready, u should defffinatly.

  4. I have seen many 3-4 yer olds who at some point after a few months not want to go to preschool. This may be more of an issue of not wanting to be away from you. Read "This Kissing Hand" to you child. Make a simple goodbye ritual and help him learn that you will come back. He may need time to work through what stresses him. Better to help him through it now than have the SAME issue appear at Kindergarten, when he needs to be in school!!!!!

My daughter had similar issues. She cried in the morning because she didn't want to be away from us and at night because she was tired.

  5. I dont think removing him from the class with solve the problems. Perhaps meeting with the teacher to share your concerns and assisting your child through what he is feeling is a tough time would be the place to start first. I know that often the first reaction is to bail but life expereinces are what help us learn.

  6. maybe, if u really think u should.

  7. When he starts kindergarten and he cries are you going to take him out again?  If you keep doing that, you are going to end of home schooling him, which is your choice.  You need to talk to the teacher and make her aware of what is going on so that the two of you can work together to make him comfortable at school.
