My 4 year old starts school soon and says he is not nervous but every since his orentation he has bad dreams?

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can make the transition smooth for him? He has never even been babysat except by my mom, and is excited about school but everysince we toured it he wants to sleep in my bed. He also wants held all the time now. Is this normal?

When he goes to school, send something small with him that he can carry around for security.

It could be a picture, a stuffed animal, something that just gives him the security of home.  I would ask him what he would like to take too.

Also.. I used to do this with my sons lunch when he was your son's age *at 13 he would sooner die than me do this anymore* but he liked it then lol.

But in the sandwich you make, take m&m's and make a smiley face out of it, or a heart, or draw out I love you etc.  That way its another reminder of 'home'.

yes it is he's probably a little nervous now and thinks you won't be there anymore , even tho you won't in school let him noe everything will be ok and you LOVE him
