My 4-yr. old grandaughter wants to know if singing will make mosquitoes go away?

Seriously, she wants to know and asked me to ask on yahooanswers. We talk a lot while I visit through YA.

  4. Mosquitos don't have ear drums! sorry sweety, however if you clap your hands.... while you are singing, you might get rid of some..... ;)

  5. I doubt it. Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide, which would be produced in abundance if you're outside singing.

  6. No. The only way to make mozzies go away is to mask the scent of sweat (using DEET, cintronella, etc.) or use a device that emits carbon dioxide to simulate a living thing (and then zap them).

    The sonic devices do not work. Singing to them definitely does not work.

  7. My singing ATTRACTS them. They stop buzzing and sit down in a semi circle with rapt attention. It's very cute to watch.

  13. Hahaha,,,,no, they won't go away. but will be attracted by the heavy breathing during singing. But she might ge to eat a few of them though during her performance,,,,,
