it is possible your tv can be intercepting a low frequency transmission maybe somewhere nearby could be setting it off try out a variety of remotes in your house that you frequently use even a cell phone can cause this.

it sounds like your F*cked.......

nah I would make sure the fan is running when they overheat they shut off and turn back on.. or it could be the backlight but usually those new TV's have a warning light when that breaks.

I would say make sure its not getting really really hot.
