My 40 yr old sister got caught with meth and needle in purse and has an eight yr old son? Should I call CPS?

She is a meth addict for over three years and has been enabled by my mother who has decided to put her hands in the air and give up. She says that my addict sister can just leave with her son. What! It is pure dysfunctional drama. But the loser is the little boy. My sister even asked him to pee for her for a drug test my mother was giving her. Should I butt in or stay out.

consider confronting....her..seek some professional advice in how to handle her..get some professional intervention..may want to go ahead and contact child protective services.for help..if the child is in indangerment of being harmed..so the sister use drugs while in the present of the child..that is endangerment..

Tell her she can continue to kill herself with that c**p but she will NOT mess up your nephew's life so if she does not stop and get treatment you will take her son away from her.  In the meantime, call CPS and have them investigate her.

CAll CPS for the boys sake. It will be hard and may cause  your sister to disown you, but that will be better than doing nothing and something happening to an innocent child. Besides, if she ever cleans up, she will probably (should be, anyway) grateful for you for taking care of her son when she couldn't.

You need to get in there and confront your sister if you don't, her son will pick it up and he will pass it down through his kids. I'v always had a hateing passion for drugies but you need to step in there before the son realizes what he and his mother are doing

You should most definitely call CPS ! There is always the possibility that the 8 year old son could " nose around " in moms purse then be stuck with one of these needles .

Not to mention all of the other possibilities that could happen .

For the boys sake you need to contact CPS .

It is going to take some thing very drastic to happen to wake your sister up and realize that she needs help and needs it fast !

As far as your mother is concerned , SHAME on her !! This is her daughter and grandson and you would think that she would be more concerned than what she is .

Please call CPS ASAP ! Your nephew needs some one to go to bat for him and by the looks of it you are the only one with any common sense that can do this .

IF you are a strong person, then you need to get involved.  Not just for the childs sake, but for your sisters.  Meth addiction has replaced Herion as one of the most damaging of all drug addictions. Most people become addicted to Meth after one use, Kinda like cigarettes, and her recvovery will be extremely difficult for ALL involved.  As a counseler I recommend a LIVE-IN rehab program.  If your family cant afford one, Your state should have programs available to her.  Get her treated NOW.  This will not get better on its own.  Meth is also one of the hardest habits to break, due to the physical, mental and emotional  addictions.  THIS WILL NOT BE EASY and someone will need to step up and take care of the child while the mother is in rehab.  If you dont get her in rehab, chances are she will end up dead, homeless, or in jail.

If she got caught with it by the cops then they have already contacted CPS.  As a previous user (I've seen what other users have done to their children) I would call CPS.  You should stand up and say something to your sister first.  Maybe it will sink in???? If not, call CPS.  You can call anonymously if you want to.  I think it's crazy that your mom would let her leave with him.  If that was me then my mom or my fiance's mom would have already called cps and taken our son away...but I understand that no one would want to raise their grandchildren.  Stand up for this little boy.  He is just a child.  Be his voice.  That sounds corny and stupid but it make sense.  Good Luck!
