My 4 1/2 year old daughter is still having close to 3 accident sa day and sometimes on purpose. She gets lots of attention so please no one say that. We have tried everything and when I mean everything we have done rewards taking toys away money potty parties no underwear making her clean herself up and change herself or just having to sit in it. I am wondering if she may not be able to feel the urge to pee and then before she knows it it is too late. She also stops herself mid pee and then 5 minutes later will pee everywhere. I have been potty training her for almost 3 years because daycare pushed it and now I am frustrated with the daily cleaning of clothes and my floors and furniture.

  1. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how...

    here are some links.

also... try to go see the doctor about it.

  2. My almost 7 year old does this.  His therapist says it's because of attention / change.  Not saying you don't spend time with her - has something changed...daycare...new job...new house...etc.  She could be rebelling against new change.

  3. Have you had her to a urologist? This could be a medical problem.  It's possible her bladder isn't emptying everytime she goes, therefore the accidents.  Talk to your pediatrician to see what he/she thinks.

  4. I agree with a few of the other answers here. You need to get her checked out by a doctor to rule out any medical condition. Sometimes wetting problems indicate an underlying physical condition, such as a urinary tract infection or an overactive bladder. It could also signal a more serious problem. Prompt treatment can help your child become accident-free. Get that checked out first, then start trying all the tricks of the trade.

  5. WEL IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAVE A LATE BLOOMER. I AM A CHILD MYSELF AND TO THE LOOKS OF IT I WAS POTTY TRAIEND AT THE AGE OF ONE. I WASVERY TALL AND MY WEIGHT WAS HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE..ANYWAYS. I HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD COUSIN WHO ISEN'T POTTY TRAINED YET. MY GUESS IS TALK TO HER PEDIATRITION AND ASK HER TO MAKE UP A PLAN OR REWARD SYSTEM. OR TRY YOU'R BEST AND IF SHE DOSENT LEARN BY SCHOOL TIME THEN TELL HER THT SHE WILL BE MADE FUN OF AND EMBARESSED AND UN-POPULAR IF SHE PEES IN CLASS OUT OF NOWHERE. THAT SURE WOULD GET ME SARTED TO LEARN AS A CHILD OF MY AGE AT 12. THANKS FOR ASKING! HOPE YOU FIND A SOULUTION.

  6. Take a deep breath. You are not alone.  I dont want to say that this is normal. but it is known to happen. There are many children that still do that. First thing you need to get is pull ups. White Cloud brand is inexpensive and we have found it doesnt cause rashes for our daughter. Next stop any drinking at least 1 hr before bed time. You are going to have to do bladder training. Some children are slower at developing the abilty to feel or even understand what the urge is. Take her to the bathroom first thing in the morning and make her sit there for a few minutes, she will go, and have her try to go somemore, just incase she trys to stop midway again. Then every 2 hours take her to the bathroom and do the same thing. Set an egg timer to help you remember. Go with her and when you hear it get excited!!!"great job honey, that is a big girl, etc.. High fives. This lets them associate the action as being good. When they are going every 2 hours it is teaching them that the urge they feel right before is the need to pee. At one point  it will be "I can do it my self " and she will go. eventually you will go to pantys during the day and pull ups at night (we got them at walmart) to not having to use the pulllups. If she is playing tell her that she can come back as soon a she is done pottying. Also use a sticker board. put a poster board on the wall and each time she goes let her put a sticker on it. I wish you the best luck, Its not easy and Most dont understand why.  This is the advice I was given and it has worked. I hope it works for  you. Remember to praise her even for trying to go. Stick with the timer it works, it may take a week but you will see results, if no results you need to take her to the doctor to be checked out, Im pretty sure it will  work. Have a great day.!!!!!

  7. every time you go to the bathroom take her with you and show her that everyone has to use the potty...

and when she does use it give her a treat!

it's kinda like training a dog...

once she figures out she gets rewarded she will want to use the potty.

that's how i potty trained my niece at 2 years old...

and get her some pull ups with the cooling action that might help too...

  8. Have you talked to her doctor?  Maybe it's a medical problem.

  9. She sounds stubborn!  Experts say children will tell you when they are ready.

Have you talked to your ped. about this problem?  Is it just peeing or pooping too?  Have you tried "The Potty Book for Girls"?  Personally, I think sitting her on the potty until she does her business, on a regular schedule, might help.  No books or bribes, just sitting on the potty until she goes.  Telling her "Big" girls don't act this way!  A schedule like every 30 minutes until she gets the hang of it.  After the first few days, start rewarding her for going potty.  Good Luck!  (this might make you feel better...my 7 year old still has accidents...is playing and forgets to go potty...and still has problems at night.)

  10. buy a fun video with tips to help ur kid

  11. There is a kind of potty training diapers that turn cold when they have an accident.

but my brother didnt potty train until he was 6!

and my mom was about ready to give up but then our neighbor gave her a trick.

Okay so dont put on underwear on her for 2 days that you stay home. Then when she has an accident dont say anything.

after 2 days it works i promise =]

my brother was finally potty trained

since shes a girl i would just put her in a dress with no underwear.

    good luck =]
