The thing is that I'm 23 weeks pregnant and am supposed to be resting alot cause I'm a "high risk pregnancy". I can't swim, do any heavy lifting or stay on my feet for long periods of time.

It's just me and my daughter home. My hubby is working and wont be back for a few days.

We have barely any money to get out of the house to do anything plus it's really hot outside so I feel like we have nothing to do.

any ideas?

  1. Do you have a kids movie she might enjoy? Coloring? let her get in your closet, make it a "big thing" to dress up in your clothes, kids have a great imagination, she will be busy for hours....

  2. maybe you guys could listen to a cd and play with dolls or something

or read her a book. or color in a coloring book im twelve and i still love to color lol

  3. have a fun movie day. pick alot of her favorite movies. make popcorn and snacks, hunckerdown and spend the day watching movies

have a salon day. do her hair and let her do yours. paint her toe nails and fingernails.

  4. Well maybe read to her and ask her questions about the book -

buy some jigsaws - my 3 year old loves them

a good game is also the guessing game - hide something and ask her what is hidden out of a few objects - hiding another and so on

but the tv is magic!!  Baking even just choc rice crispy cakes is fun for them.

but the best one is probably inviting one of her friends round and her having company her same age is great for them.

  5. play a board game. play with her dolls. watch a movie, make some art. Or even bake and let her help with the little things.

  6. take her to her library and check out some books or sign up her for a program.  you can cook, play board games, do "make overs", or try to organize a play date for her.  you can even try looking into preschool prices.

  7. Put on some fast loud music and let her dance to the beat! You just relax, sit down and pretend you're a judge or something. She's four she'll believe you!

When she gets tired, take her out for ice cream since its hot!

  8. Sit at the kitchen table with her, and play a board game =D yay

    Or draw/color with her

Or make up some secrets and tell them to her loll

    Watch a moviee

dunk ur hands in paint and make hand prints on pieces of paper xD

  9. Do you know (and trust) someone to take her for a couple of hours? You can also have a playdate at your house and have the parents stay there (so they can help you clean up the toys and all that).

you can get a blow up pool and fill it up with water, sit on the shade and have her play with water.

get chuck and let her write in the driveway

  10. do crafts read books take long naps do anything that makes her happy.

  11. play with dolls or play dress up

i loved doin things like that when i was a kid

  12. These idiots obviously don't understand High Risk pregnancy. Tell her to bring things to you, while you hide your eyes and you try to guess what she has. Say funny things first like, an elephant, a mushroom?

  13. Do some crafts or play cards or board games or even just watch a fun movie with her. Try look up some crafts that can be done with regular household items so you don't have to spend any money. Also if you have safety scissors and some paper google "Circle You Can Walk Through" it's a fun little craft to watch kids try to figure out.

  14. Go the library and check out "The Daring Book for Girls" by Andrea J. Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz

  15. go to chuck e cheese you can sit down and she can play

    and you can eat :)

  17. if u have money for gas go drivin or somthing play somthing in da house like hide n seek or somthing like dat

  18. Play some games with her inside. No running but sit down and tell her stories or something.

  19. Get alot of coloring books and stuff from dollar store.  Let her put on art shows and tape them up on a wall and pick winners.  Let her get in her bathing suit and go in the tub. My daughter loved that.  She even had goggles and flippers for the tub.  She should play in there for at least an hour or so.  Buy play do at the dollar store and a dollar shower curtain and put the shower curtain down and let her play with the play do kids love that.  Then just roll it up when you are done.

  20. Being pregnant is not an excuse to not entertain your child. Act like a parent and buy her things

  21. play monoply, or other board games, draw pictures, play eye spy. watch TV. paint nails.

oh i just found some more:

watch a disney movie, i think cooking might be tiring, just lay down and relax read her a stoyr book.

let her play with your hair, or give it a makeover.

    hmm what else

or play barbies or dolls with her.

    good luck

  22. Coloring

    Playdoh

    Blocks

    Movies

    Painting nails

    Makeup

    Barbies

    Simon Says

  23. take her to the store and let her pick out a toy or 2. Invite some of her friends over for a play date. Bake with her.

  24. Let her go crazy with some art supplies. Get a cardboard box big enough to build a house out of (well... for her I mean) and let her decorate it. You can maybe sit on the floor and help her decorate it (i.e. drawy flower boxes under some cut out windos, etc). Hope this helps!

  25. Four year olds are pretty easy to entertain;  just about anything makes them happy as long as mama is doing it too.  Gather a bunch of things ...yarn, glue, cereal, paper, feathers, sticks, leaves, old puzzle pieces and start gluing to make a big collage.  Get a recipe on line for  homemade playdoh (edible is fun!), color it with food coloring and use your imagination.  Cookie cutters can be used for playdoh, real cookies or just as a stencil.  Make a tent from blankets and chairs.  Put lots of books in it and a small lamp.  You can tell campfire stories to each other.  Look thru old photo albums together. Get a can of shaving cream or a container of Cool Whip or pudding and go outside with that and a hose.  Gather all her stuffed animals and dolls and play school with them.  You can sit and be the teacher;  she can be teacher's helper!  Enjoy this time with just the two of you;  you may not have that again for a long, long time!

  26. Do you have any craft paper, glitter, crayons? Do a craft project together! Play dress-up. Read a story to her. Color?

My sister plays dress-up with her daughter then has a photo shoot with the digital camera.

    Just throwing ideas out.

    Stay cool & relaxed!

  27. Read books, have her draw pictures for her new brother/sister.  Sing songs and record them on tape.  Get a DVD of a kids dance at the library and have her watch it and try to copy it with you there cheering her on.

  28. why don't you have a friend or someone in your family and take her for a day out on a play date , children feed off of our stress (seems that the pregnancy got you stressed out) she is probably stressed out as well. Take a day off let her go out and be kid and you take the time you really need to relax.

    P.S.

My ex roomie had a smilar problem so I took out her little one a few times to help her out.

  29. Get artsy.  Let her create pictures with macaroni and glue, draw with some finger paints(there are some great homemade finger paint recipes online), or let her color with some crayons.  Potatoe stamps work as well.  This not only entertains her but is also stimulates her creativity, imagination, and thought process.

    Good luck with baby #2!

  30. The library is a great free and air - conditioned activity. You can sit and relax while she reads the books and plays on the computers. You can let her check out a few to bring home with her. My library even has DVD's and CD's that you can check out for free -- up to 30 at a time!

Most malls have a children's play area that is free. You could sit and relax while she plays with other children.

On a cooler day, or in the morning you take her to a local park to play. You could also take her to the pool and let swim in the shallow end while you sit on the steps to stay cool. If she can't swim yet, get her a life jacket so you won't have to exert too much energy.

You definitely try to get out of the house on a regular basis, it can get very depressing staying home too much.

    Good Luck!

  31. When I was that age, I loooved cardboard boxes. Give me a few boxes big enough for me to crawl around in and some crayons and I'd have my own house, or space station, fort, etc...

I don't know your daughter well, but this always worked for me. :)
