Ive tried brushing his teeth more often but it doesnt last long. His Dr noticed a bit of tonsilitous but it turned out to be viral. Im thinking that has something to do with the yuck mouth.

is there a safe mouthwash I can have him use?? Or is salt water a better idea? Give me some tips people!

  1. yea, there's kids mouth wash.  It's called Agent Blue ... something.

  2. Try using listorine smart rinse as he is only a child this one wont leave a strong taste behind in his mouth but will kill germs that brushing isn't removing.

  3. don't forget to floss his teeth every day, that's often what causes bad breath

there are lots of kids mouthwashes in fun flavors like bubble gum and watermelon

you will find them in every drug store, we always buy the generic brand

some toothpaste doubles as a mouthwash

it's like a gel called Colgate Kids i think

your son can brush then swish it around in his mouth

    good luck :)

  4. Go see a dintest. He is old enough to get a cleaning could be a cavity you dont know he has..... its not uncommon and if its something else the dr will know whats wrong. Dont use mouth wash yet to young for that harsh stuff even the kids mouth wash might be too much

  5. if the extra brushing doesnt work it may be something internal.. he might need a good 'clean out' if you know what i mean.. consult a doctor first of course

  6. To be honest I'd be a little worried about giving a four year old mouthwash. I have heard that making sure he is well hydrated with lots of water is key too.

  7. Have his tonsils rechecked.

Also, diet is very key/important to smell of  breathe.

Bad breathe can also be an indicator of gastrological/stomache problems.

Have the pediatrician do a thorough exam, until you get a sound answer.

    Do not use mouth wash.

  8. tonsilitis comes with smelly breath. Overusing mouthwashes can also do it. I do not believe mouth wash is recommended for 4 year olds. Make sure you brush his tongue and floss as well

  9. If his tonsils are the culprit they need to be removed. Before my son had his out, his breath smelled like c**p, regardless of how many times a day he brushed. That is the infection that you smell. You can use salt water to soothe and help with the smell but I recommend getting his tonsils out soon. The younger they are when they remove them, the easier the healing process is.

  10. Another theory is a pacifier, because chewing on a pacifier can rot a young child's weak teeth, trust me I've seen it happen.
