My 5.8 Ghz cordless phone is faintly picking up a radio station on the background. How do I get rid of it?

I'm using a VOIP router with this regular phone but I don't think it's because of that. It doesn't make any sense that 5.8 Ghz band should be picking up FM radio signals.

  1. it is called Overload.

    To get rid of it you need to filter the line. The easiest is to use a split core ferrite filter. You can buy them at Radiio sHack, parts express and other places.

    open the core, wrap the phone line thru a couple times and this will remove the RF that is ridding on the phone line.
