  1. When she is ready for solids, she will take the them. Keep offering her the oatmeal and the bottle together.

If you can, try to avoid the struggles. It's your job to provide healthy food, but it's your daughters job to intake the food herself. Eating should be a fun time to explore and try new things, but also have a routine of doing the old things, like taking a bottle.

As frustrating as it is now, she will outgrow the bottle.

  2. My daughter did the same thing and the posters above me are correct. If you child pushes away the spoon and doesn't want to eat, don't force it. She just isn't interested yet. Try again every few days and if she refuses it, let her. Eventually she'll start liking it. Good luck!

The truth is that very few infants are developmentally ready at 4 months. In addition, it is now recommended to delay foods until 6 months in order to decrease the chance of allergies. I also have found that some infants are not developmentally ready for solids until 8 or 9 months. You can click here to read about what signs to watch for to determine when your infant is ready for foods. Breast milk is nutritionally complete for at least the first year of life. This means that infants can go for at least a year on breast milk alone, without eating any foods, and be nutritionally complete. Offering foods between 6 and 12 months of age is simply for social development and to get infants used to eating.

I encourage parents not to try to coax their 6 month old into accepting solids before he shows many of the signs of being ready. This can create a picky eater and negative feelings about eating.

  4. Perhaps she is not ready for solids. Sometimes it takes time to introduce solids to your little ones. They are just so use to their bottles or mommys breast. I know my little girl didnt want solids until she was 7 months. Its a matter of patience and when she's ready.

Best of Luck to you and your Little One. God Bless =D

  5. I did not wean until my son was a bit over 7 months old.

We started the baby lead weaning where he would eat (or suck) fist sized bits of banana, broccoli etc.

He decided when and what he wanted to eat.

It is a fantastic approach and I can not recommend it highly enough.

Besides, have you tasted the baby cereal? It really is unpleasant.

    Good luck!

  6. I wouldn't push it, just give her a few days and try again.  If you try to force her to eat the cereal she'll just get more upset!  I've read that babies may take trying some new foods around 14 times before they decide they like it!

Try mixing the cereal with baby apple juice instead of formula, she might like it better.

  7. I would say that she isn't quite ready for solids in that case.  Don't push it with her.  I would hold off a week or two and try to introduce them again.  Usually babies will be willing to eat when they are ready.  She doesn't neccessarily need solids quite yet..... so theres no need to worry.

  8. You can't fix it and you don't need to fix it.  Just keep trying every day or a few times a week.  This is all new for her and it sounds like she isn't ready.  Don't push it, she will start when she is ready.  Just keep at it and eventually she will come around.  also, keep trying different things and tastes
