  1. I think you should change brands if there is no strong reason other than preference to the other bottles.

  2. Wow, thats a long time

Check the nipple now and then make sure it's not clogged.

  3. I believe it doesn't matter what brand u use. My son 6 month's and I use Playtex and he also take forever to finish his bottle. Sorry I was sent no help. But there's nothing to worry about.

  4. Wow, this is an extremely long time. Has it always taken this long? Have you always used the same bottle. I would switch the bottle. This time period is way to long for 2 reasons - 1) Formula should been thrown away after being left out for over 45 minutes and 2) after sucking for an hour and a half you child had used up a lot of calories and energy.

  5. actually yr baby maybe having a slow suck which keeps him so long at the nipple.in addition if the flow is also slow it doubles his time.

u can overcome this problem by making the hole of the nipple bigger so that the milk flows in quicklier and yr baby's slow suck will automatically become faster and teach him fast sucking.

my newborn had the same problem.he used to finish 30 ml in 45 mins or more.i made the hole of the avent stage 1 bottle a bit bigger and that worked magic making him finish his 30 ml in 15 mins.

  6. There could be a number of reasons. Do you BF or FF? Does the baby scream and fuss and fight the bottle? Keep falling asleep?

Depending on how your baby takes the bottle, it could be reflux, gas, upset tummy, if formula is given the formula may not agree with the baby's tummy, or the baby could just not be hungry.

My daughter was doing the same thing, but she was fighting the bottle....I dreaded getting up with her in the middle of the night because it would take her 1 hour 10 minutes average to finish a 4-oz bottle. I changed her formula and gave her a faster flow nipple and that solved that problem....but only at night. During the day, she would NOT under any circumstances take a rapid flow nipple. But since we changed her formula it's helped a lot and she now takes about 20 minutes tops to eat 6oz.

  7. I do not think that is normal. I would try a different bottle. I changed from slow to medium flow nipple when my baby was 3 months because she would only eat a little and be tired from sucking so she was not filling her belly. I would just go buy one bottle of a diferent kind and try it. I use playtex drop ins with medium flow nipples. I have no experience with Dr Brown's bottles. But I can not imagine that your baby is getting what is needed.

  8. My baby did the same thing I used to use Dr. Brown's bottles too. I decided to change bottles and bought some Evenflo glass bottles with fast nipples and some Vent Air curved bottles with level two nipples and fast nipples and it cut down on the time it took to feed her drastically.
