  1. My 5 week old is in the same boat. He is exclusively breastfed and I watch my diet so I'm not too big on introducing drugs to him. I do the leg in the air cycling motion thing to him, it helps him pass gas sometimes. Gently push his knees to his tummy as you do it. Also, I sometimes apply a drop of heaty traditional Asian massage oil that helps relieve wind to his tummy and very gently massage it. That works as well.

If all else fails, try putting her on her tummy and pat her bottom till she falls asleep, but make sure to watch her. However, if she is writhing, screaming or protesting, don't do it. My son almost always passes gas in that position, although he'll squirm and make some loud straining sounds (which can be quite disturbing to hear) until he passes gas. Once she is fully asleep, turn her over and let her rest. She deserves it after all the effort.

  2. have her/him lay on his tummy and you apply counter pressure also if your nursing drink chamomile tea this will help with the gas

  3. My daughter has the same problem! She is 5 weeks old too. I gave her gripe water (organic), which you can find at fred meyers

It worked so well and it worked so fast, she was so happy after I gave it to her, she relaxed and was able to go to sleep.

    Hope this helps! : )

  4. give her some mylicon and look up on google the little leg exercises and such to help relieve it...for us it works best to give her the mylicon and then carry her in one arm with her left leg over and  a little higher than her right...also found that if we can sooth her to sleep and she relaxes, a lot of times she passes it on her on before she wakes up....also sometimes works for us to put her sitting up on our knee and gently pat her back like we are burping her,  or if u can get her relaxed enough massage tummy gently in a clockwise motion....the large intestine runs down the left side and this seems to help her a lot, we haven't had much luck with the leg motions, but others swear by them....just keep trying...

if she is constipated; her stools will be hard, not like usual...if that is the case  you need to call the doc or the doc on call and see what they would have you do for her...no need for her to suffer...

  5. LAY ON YOUR BACK NOT ALL THE WAY BUT A LITTLE SLANTED.. AND PUT EHR ON YOUR STOMACH.. LET HER PUSH WHEN SHE IS ON YOUR STOMACH IT WILL HELP WITH THE PRESSURE AND AS FOR GAS.. GOOGLE IT ITS CALLED MYLICON. ITS GREAT I USE IT ATLEAST 2 A WEEK.

  6. Gripe water is what we used - maybe it'll work for your little 'un.
