I noticed today when I was brushing her hair that she had a bald spot which is a little off color from here scalp. She has never had stitches or any scarring injuries to cause a bald spot. It is just randomly there. Is this normal for a child to have a random bald spot?

  1. my nephew pulls his hair out when hes sleeping but just to be safe go see a doctor

  2. go to the doctor to be on the safe side

  3. could it be a ringworm... I would  take her to the dr asap because they are contagious

  4. what does her hairdresser and/or pediatrician say???

  5. if i were you, i would get it checked out by a doctor to be safe.

  6. Just like the first answerer, I would check with a doctor when she goes in for her next physical. Press gently on it or around it and see if she feels any pain, or ask her if she had done anything that might have caused some sort of scar. But on the other hand, I have a friend who has a birthmark and it's on her head, and no hair grows there, so it's about the same size as your daughter's. Best of luck, you'll be fine!

  7. Yes, it's probably just a hidden birthmark. I have one on the side of my head, and hair doesn't grow there. It's very common.

  8. since its a bit off color it may be a birthmark but better safe then wonder, make an appointment with a dermatologist to take a look.

  9. I'm not really sure what it is, but you should probably take her to a doctor.

  10. Mm it could be ringworm or it could also be that she pulls or twists her hair when you are not looking or it could just be that she has some hair loss - I think its called alopecia - here is a good website discussing the alopecia and also ringworm - have a look and see your doctor for a confirmation of her condition

    Best wishes

  11. If the spots are in the size of a  quarter and has a smooth surface. Check out the images in the website below, if its similar then it must be Alopecia Areata.

We found a website called http://www.ALOPECIA-AREATA-CURE.com when my bro had the same problem that explains about the condition and suggests treatment. He gave it a try and to all our surprise he recovered.

Its quite informative. You might want to give it a try. Wish you a quick recovery.
