My 5 year old son ruined his social security card, what do i need to get a new one as he doesn't have an id?

  1. Least he didn't lose it.  I never needed mine until I got a job.  I think the only requirement is having one, so the card is a frill.  You can get a new one from the website for a few bucks if you require a new one.  I know it sounds silly but why not get him a state ID.

  3. ok nick don´t you worry about it just go to the ss officee all you need is a copy of hi´s birth certificate and the´ll give you a new one good luck.

  4. My mom lost my card. We had to go into the office with my birth certificate and I think she had to sign an affidavit saying that I was the person mentioned on the certificate. (45 minute wait.)

  6. (^every one born in america has a ss card.) you should be able to call your local ss office and find out what you need. i'm sure you'll need his birth certificate and probably your ss card and state id or dl.
