  1. Once in awhile my 17 year old still comes find me in my room when her dad is not there. All my three kids slept with us and when they were ready they moved to their room.

  2. shes 5 and old enough to understand what you say.  tell her now that shes a big girl, she might have more fun and more privacy if she slept in her own room.

if her room is outdated because she hasnt used it much since she was a baby re-decorate with her and buy new bed sheets and a new BIG GIRL bedspread.

if she doesnt seem to thrilled, try the new blanket thing and then suggest a sleepover with the 2 of u in her room, and the next morning ask her if she had fun sleeping in her room.  if she was ok with it, tell her thats where she has to sleep from now on, but that u are right down the hall at night if she needs u.

if she protests completly and gives u a hard time, be more enforcive and every time she gets out of her bed, silently walk her back, do it all night if u have to, she'll get the picture eventually.

    good luck!!!

  3. Slowly but surely. My younger sister was afraid to sleep alone so i allowed her to sleep with me which became a very big problem as she grew older. I put her in a cot next to my bed for a week and then one night we went into her room and i slept n the cot next to her bed and after about 3 weeks we were both sleeping in our own beds.

  4. just talk to her

tell her shes a big girl now

and tell her that her friends will think shes not a big girl and shes afraid

and telll her to TRY it

  5. Hi sweetie, it was hard to start though... But u need to put in a little effect...

It happens to my gal, 5 too.  I have to accompany her in her new bed and probably talk to her or tell her a story before she sleeps. It takes about 2 months for her getting use to sleep alone.

For the first few days, she will wake up between her sleep crying and looking for us, we just have to comfort her and accompany her back to sleep...

    Hope this helps

  6. You're going to have to start up a bedtime routine, bath, tooth brushing, pj's, a story tuck in and goodnight.  Of course she is going to cry and probably get out of bed, you will simply have to allow her to cry and take her back to her bed over and over and over until she gets used to sleeping in ther own bed.

  7. I'd involve her in choosing her own bed and bedding etc. Then maybe invite one or two friends for a special sleep party in her new bedroom/bed.  Make her really excited about it.

then maybe one night you sleep in a sleeping bag next to her, then slowly make your way out of her room.

  8. fist you must tell your girl that she already grow nright now so if she dont get it,u tell her that you .........

  9. Put her in it and tell her to stay there...she is old enough to sleep by herself now...that is what I did with mine and never had a problem...you just have to be willing to stand your ground!
