  1. Probably the best advice is to start with the diet and thts the easiest cut out all the fast food and soda. Soda will pack the pounds on fast in my case I lost 23 lbs and I weighed what you son and husband did. I also am eating better and working out which is what I am doing.

  2. High protein, low carb diets with plenty of fruit, veggies and water. It will be up to you to either plan and cook the meals or MAKE them do it themselves. You may purchase a book on the subject and keep a food journal. Diabetic diets also work very well for weight loss. My clients lose 10-15lbs per month on the high protein, low carb diet. The male clients lose 20% more than the females. I've got a husband and wife on the program finishing up tomorrow. She's lost 22lbs, he's lost 30lbs. The only physical activity needed would be a light walk for 30 minutes 3 times a week. After the weight loss really hits them, they'll be wanting to do an hour at the gym everyday.

  3. Actually when it comes to losing weight, the most important thing is good nutrition.  Eating the right foods in the right amounts.

They will need to exercise however (not necessarily together).  I would suggest that they join some class/club/group that will involve some activity.

You and your husband could take dancing lessons, your son could study martial arts.  There are yoga classes, biking and walking clubs, etc.

  4. Try Atkins Diet.
