Question:

My 52 reg vectra has started producing smoke from the exhaust? ive topped up oil and water so whats goin on???

  1. Your inlet valves have little rubber seals on them, and they don't last forever.  Have a garage change them, and all will probably be well.  If you have no overheating problems, your head gasket is probably ok.

  3. Piston rings or valve seals. Oil is combusting with the fuel mix.

  4. Sounds like it could be burning oil in the petrol mix.

  5. Blue smoke is burning oil.  Perhaps worn valve guides, worn piston rings. The first is favourite, especially if it's mostly on start-up. When the engine is off, wear in the valve guides allows a small amont of oil to run down into the cylinder(s) and this is burnt off when you start.

  6. it sounds like the head gaskets

  7. so whats it smell like ... oil or gas flumes or antifreeze

    smell like oil then the motor is shot smell like gas you need a tune up smell like antifreeze you blown a head gasket

  8. Looks like your engine is on its way out
