My 6 year old boy lies about everything?

He always lie, i catch him say im praying to God and he will tell me the truth. What can i do to punish him. Hes not afraid of me or anyone, even if i say im calling the cops.

My little sister Jillian is always lying. You can never tell if she is telling the truth or not, or if she is completely making stuff up. So my family just stops believing her. No matter what she says, we assume it is a lie. Which is very annoying for her. Like if she says she is sick, we dont believe, and my mom sends her off to school sick. If she says (her twin sister) Summer did something to her, we don't believe her. No matter what we act like she is lying, and slowly but surly she is becoming more truthful.

I did plenty of that when i was 6, and i i did a big whopper,  I TOLD EVERY ONE IN TOWN THAT I WAS SHIRLEY JONES DAUGHTER, AND THAT I GO TO ALL THE CONCERTS OF THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, OK, SOO ONE DAY MY FATHER CAUGHT ME, AND HE TOLD ME THIS, THAT THERE IS THIS PLACE CALLED LIARS VILLAGE, WERE, AT THIS VILLAGE, ALL THE KIDS GO TO THIS VILLAGE, IF YOU ARE CAUGHT LYING, AND IF YOU ARE CAUGHT AGAIN YOUNG LADY IAM GOING TO SEND YOU AWAY TO THIS VILLAGE, AND YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE US EVER AGAIN, THEY PUT RESTRAINTS ON YOU, AND MAKE YOU WRITE SEVERAL HUNDRED TIMES A DAY, I WILL NOT LIE , AND HE MADE IT UP SOO GOOD THAT I ACTUALLY BELEIVED HIM, AND IT SCARED ME, HE TOLD ME WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG, THEN HE MADE UP THIS CALENDAR THING, THAT EVERY DAY, IF I TOLD A LIE EACH DAY I WILL GET A BLUE STREAK ON THE CALENDAR, AND IF I DONT MAKE A LIE AND TELL THE TRUTH, I WILL HAVE STARS ON EVERY DAY AND THAT AT THE END OF THE MONTH THE REPORT WILL GO TO THE LIARS VILLAGE, AND IF THERE IS MORE THEN 3  BLUE STREAKS ON THE CALENDAR, I WILL SEND YOU TO THE VILLAGE AND I WILL NOT SEE YOU EVER AGAIN, DEAL?? OK, THAT TIME PERIOD I HAD MAYBE 1 BLUE STREAK, IT REALLY LEARNED MY LESSON, BECAUSE AT THAT AGE YOU REALLY WANT THOSE STARS EVERY DAY OF THE MONTH, WHEN  I WAS 10 I REALIZED WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND I LEFT IT GO, TILL I WAS 12, THEN I SAID DADDDDD STOPPPP, I WILL NOT LIE AGAIN, OK, LAUGH OUT LOUD, BUT TELL HIM THAT RIGHT FROM WRONG THING FIRST THEN, TRY THE CALENDAR DEAL, AND THE STORY

Make him listen...

Be persisent and don't just threaten and not go through with something. If you're going to smack his butt if he continues..do it...

My boyfriend's sister always threatens her kids and she never follows through that's why they are so out of control...

Well, you obviously lie to your kid too if he believes in god. Indoctrinating your child into the lie that is religion.. double standard much. a lie for a lie =]

You can't threaten him with things you will not follow through on. So saying you will get the cops after him for lying will not work.

To help my oldest daughter through her problems with lying.

We.... had her write a sentence about what she did wrong. (I will not tell lies.) (I will not steal.) Etc. Written atleast 50 time.

We also have grounded her. Meaning no fun. She can sit on her bed and read. Or do chores around the house. But you have to keep in mind... this is also a punishment for you. Because what ever you decide to do, you have to follow through on. So you can't say your grounded for the day and then take him out shopping with you.

All kids lie, its just a myth for kids. I have that problem alot.
